'Gulkand is a sweet preserve of damask rose petals which has a strong fragrance. Often referred to rose petal jam which is prepared by using rose petals and sugar and then sundried over a period of one month thereby imparting a rich, dense, flora flavour to the delicacy. Gulkand or rose petal jam is a sweet Indian delicacy. The word gulkand is derived from gul, which means ‘flower’ in Persian, and ‘qand’ which means ‘sweet’ in Arabic.
